  malware bytes anti malware great software

  Pros: removed xp antivirus 2008 where others failed including "top rated" ones. nice tight little program.

  Cons: was difficult to buy, offered paypal as option but then required name, address and other information to purchase rather than paypal account name.

  this one works very well, and it's faster than others

  Pros: I specialize in cleaning problems from computers, and have so for 7 or 8 years. recently, I have been frustrated by Windows XP Anti-spyware 2008 and similar - my usual programs take a while to get rid of it. Malwarebytes' anti-Malware took care of it effectively, and fast! It also got rid of a new variant of vundo that neither Spybot Search & Destroy nor Atribune's Vundofix did. And this was just the free version! I'm licensing this one for sure!

  Worked when Webroot and Symantec failed

  Pros: I struggled for 3 days trying to figure out why my desktop icons and taskbar were disappearing and re-appearing and my laptop was virtually disabled. I scoured the internet and read dozens of "fixes" none of which worked. I finally narrowed the problem down to the fact that explorer was crashing and restarting every 10 seconds. I discovered the reference to the Vundo virus which was never caught by Webroot even after rescanning. I downloaded the Symantec removal tool which scanned and found nothing on my computer. In desperation I called my IT guy who recommended this program. I downloaded and ran it. It found 75 infected files plus infected registry keys, etc. Over 100 items in all. On reboot the laptop booted with all of the desktop icons back as well as the taskbar. I bought the product and so far so good.

  This works and it is free

  Pros: Once installed you scan your hard drive and in the end you tell it to delete the Sh*& (usually 10 files) that these idiots put on your machine and your back to normal
