This application gives you useful information at a glance, although a visit to its user guide is a must. Active Dashboard lets you designate small blocks of data from featured Web sites. Information such as weather, news, and even financial quotes from the Dow Jones Industrial Average can be viewed and updated on your desktop. Active Dashboard's interface is easy to use once you get the hang of it, but you'll want to skim its user guide to eliminate confusion. Simply click the program's icon located on your dashboard; we were able to perform quick searches, look up definitions, and create bookmarked hyperlinks to favorite sites. Right-click a block agent to get more detailed information, or left-click to schedule updates as often as you'd like. Each user can create personal dashboards of useful agents and password-protect selections. In any event, those wanting up-to-the minute information will dub this program a great no-cost solution.
