Although mainly designed to burn audio CDs, this program supplies a few extra-helpful features. Upon launch, Acoustica MP3 CD Burner proposes to scan your PC for all MP3, WMA, and WAV files; we suggest you take the program up on its offer, as it will make the burning process much easier in the long run. After finding audio files on your computer, the application displays a list in its left pane, with check boxes next to each folder and file. This system makes adding and removing tracks a no-brainer, but you still can browse your machine for music if you like. We didn't encounter any snags while burning our test CD, but users who want to burn data discs as well will need to find another program.
Besides the no-frills audio player, you'll also find a utility for ripping CDs to several formats at the quality of your choice. Folks seeking a user-friendly CD burner will feel right at home with this offering.
