Digital audio's power comes from the ease with which it can be manipulated. AVS Audio Tools is a suite of software that allows computer users to record, mix, and convert audio files, rip and copy audio CDs, and burn new discs. Its simple interface is similar to its popular rival, the Nero package of audio tools, providing a step-by-step wizard that guides users through each task.

It has a particular focus on cell phones, with tools for creating ring tones and uploading them to phones. Given this program's wide range of features and relatively small price tag, we recommend it as a good alternative to better-known audio tools.

  Non Professional company!!

  Cons: If you upgrade your PC or old one dies your lifetime license goes away. They automatically assume you are a thief using your key on more than one PC. They will not respond to emails. They will ignore you totally. Bought a Lifetime end of April 07 - machine crashed in May. My lifetime license lasted 4 weeks. Bought a new PC and was denied what I paid for to this day. Don't ever upgrade your machine or you will lose your money. Bad company to deal with absolutely no professionalism.

  Pros: fairly easy to make interesting tones and convert files

  Cons: free version messes up any files you create with this "demo" soundclip at the beginning, but it's not worth $30 to buy the software and get this fixed
