Publisher's description of ALPass
From ESTsoft:ALPass securely stores all your Web site logins and passwords and lets you login to Web sites automatically. You can have ALPass automatically add new Web site logins and passwords for you for maximum ease. Strong 3DES encryption keeps your information secure and safe from hackers. Install ALPass to your local PC or onto any removeable storage device such as a USB flash drive, digital camera, iPod, or any of thousands of others. Take ALPass with you to safely login to any web site from any computer. Store unlimited logins for unlimited users. Security options let you choose how much security is right for you, from simple and permissive to completely paranoid, iron-clad security. ALPass fully supports Internet Explorer, but alternative browser users (e.g. Firefox, Opera) can still take advantage of drag & drop for entering logins and passwords. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Remember usernames and passwords with this free password manager that's simple in design, but offers all the features you need to make logging in easy.
To use ALPass, you have to create a username and password, and you'll have to remember it since there's no way to retrieve it. The interface consists of navigational buttons, a URL field, and a tree menu that displays links for the log-in sites that you manually enter. The program can be accessed through the system tray or as a shortcut on your browser toolbar. Adding a Web site was a piece of cake as all we had to do was click the Add button. Likewise, we were able to modify and delete each username and password. The auto-fill feature quickly added our username and password when we visited one of our saved pages. The extensive Preferences menu lists a variety of auto features (auto-fill, auto-login) for you to choose, as well as extra security precautions such as enabling the auto log-out after periods of inactivity. Each option that we chose performed as promised. A Help menu is included, but even novice users will find it unnecessary.
With its effectiveness and ease of use, ALPass is a viable password manager we recommend for all users.

Version: ALPass 2.74
"Could not get it to work with Firefox"
Pros: Simple enough to fill in your information
Cons: Seemed to only work with IE; could not figure out how to get it to work with Firefox

Version: ALPass 2.74
"I couldn't get the ALPass to work"
Pros: The idea and the concept of saving keystrokes is a great idea because I can't stand having to fill out all my contact information over and over again. Problem with your software is that it keeps making you login over and over again and it doesn't even fill out the boxes that need your contact information ... the Icons are cute looking but whats the point if you can't get the thing to work.
Cons: I would like it if the software doesn't make you log on over and over again and atleast fill in the boxes that asks for your contact information. I found it basically more of a hassel and a complete waste of time and something taking up space on my hard drive... I think you need to start over and get the thing to work.

Version: ALPass 2.74
"Simple after a little input effort"
Pros: With just a few clicks, you can log into sites without always trying to remember your password. It works like Autofill, click the logo on your explorer and either input your User ID and password or press "Fill" if you already done it - You're in.
For those who change User ID/ Password, its a must. A1.

Version: ALPass 2.74
Pros: Functions as intended, including automation features, even in Vista (itself an accomplishment).
Cons: Small, not-too-attractive, somewhat unintuitive interface (and resizing it doesn't "stick"); hard to tell when it's going to pop up or disappear. Bit too fancy for my taste, but may please others.
I wound up going with KeePass (open source, Sourceforge.net) as it's a more traditional, full-featured password manager (with good semi-automation [minus the final "Enter" keystroke that actually logs into the site] that also works in Vista).
