  GREAT SOFTWARE DID EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED IT TO DO!!

  Pros: GREAT SOFTWARE DID EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED IT TO DO!!

  I am working as a TA for a professor at my university and he gave me a paper in PDF format. The document was from 1994 and it had just been scanned into the computer back then and put into PDF format. I searched and tried every product I could then I found ABBYY tired it on one page and it was able to put it into Word with NO problem. The only thing is that if you download the fee trial then you have to break up each page from the PDF in order for it to work. Now that I have used it I am going to try to convince my boss in letting me purchase it for the office because we do have to covert PDF files like this to Word documents.

  I recommend this to anyone that has a scanned document and needs it get it into text format.

  Cons: The only down side is that it had a hard time with the graphs and some of the equations within the paper. It would turn the graphs into a bunch of numbers. That is fine though because I can just screen shot the graphs.

  Great accuracy

  Pros: I have been using many OCR software to process tables in the past. None of them impressed me with the outcome. After I tried this software, I was very happy with the results. All the information are correctly identified and ieditable. It even rotated my vertical tables automatically!

  One most important thing I am impressed is Fine Reader combined my 5 page tables into ONE spreadsheet and the header and page numbers were not mixed in the table! Other OCR software seemed to insert my 5 page table into 5 spreadsheets which I have to use copy and paste method to put them together. Not even mentinging about the header. It was totally screwed with other OCR software.

  This is a GREAT piece of software!

  Cons: The product is a littel expensive. But for the time I save with its accuracy result, I think it still worths. (I signed up to receive their tips newseltters and I actualy bought the product with $99.)
