FUDWARE mislabled as freeware.
Pros: Good functional concept, but ..
Cons: Mislabeled as freeware and has no real trial period.
Must be paid for or it becomes useless quickly.
If not purchased your system becomes more vulnerable than it was before the installation.
Difficult to uninstall.
Once installed, unless you buy it it becomes useless very quickly, and it leaves your system more vulnerable than it was before.
Falsely labeling this freeware, when it is not, is an unscrupulous business practice which strongly undermines trust, and one which should rightly make the consumer wary.
What is FUDware?
F is for fear.
U is for uncertainty.
D is for doubt.
It seems this is the age of FUD. This app's developer appears to rely on FUD to sell it, much as der Pres relies on FUD, to sell his repressive governmental restructuring efforts.
I like Sunbelt/Kerio Personal Firewall myself. It passed the GRC leak test with flying colors, doesn't slow my PC down, is easy to configure, and there is a freeware version.
No I do not work for Sunbelt. I just want people to get the software they need.
This really is a free version of Process Guard
Check it out for yourself. The free version, while lacking some features of the paid version, is valuable even if you have anti-virus software.
It prevents your applications (even security programs) from being changed or stopped by malware, and controls whether programs (including malware) can even execute or not.
The paid version is especially useful if your browsing habits are high risk.
Even if you already have an anti-virus, firewall, and anti-spyware adding Process Guard (paid) will plug the gaps and give you just about 100% protection from malware.
Not worth the risk because ....
I already have Sunbelt/Kerio Personal Firewall, Ewido antispyware, HijackThis, Spybot Search&Destroy and more.
ProcessGuard does not offer any protection not already provided by the apps I have, and so the drawbacks of a ProcessGuard free install do not justify the risk.
Thanks anyway though.
webgrrrl gets paid to write negative/positive reviews by competitors, please disregard her reviews. Although some are true in most cases her reviews are biased and uninformed.
webgrrrl in most cases has no technical experience, has not tested the software and simple spills out propaganda on her favorite software. As you will see she recommends the same software over and over again.
If you review her reviews she even flames the positive reviews of other users. You dont want to listen to someone that gets paid?
You see how it feels to review other peoples reviews? She does get paid by the way if I had forgotten to mention it.
It is an honor to be stalked by CRAWLER/IBIS Websearch.
If warning people about phony anti-spyware, wasn't effective, they would not be doing it.
I was TOTALLY WRONG about this software.
I don't know how I did this! I think I mixed this fine product up with something else. I deeply regret my error, and I hope the developer will be able to excuse me.
This is very highly regarded software, rightly so, which is usually the first on the draw among programs which are similar.
[slapping my own forehead]
Nice!.......
Origional and honestly shows you really tested it!
