If you've ever had to compare two large Excel spreadsheets, looking for minute differences in hundreds of rows of figures, you know how mind-numbing the task can be. This program runs an automatic comparison between documents, finding differences and presenting them in a convenient HTML-based summary file. Users can select specific document areas to compare, and can save profile settings so the same comparison can be run again later.

In our tests, comparison of two large Excel documents (about 2,500 rows apiece) took about 10 minutes. Advanced users can also use the tool in Visual Basic or Office applications. Overall, we think the program could be an extremely useful and timesaving tool for active Excel users.

  Works as advertised

  Pros: It does an excellent job of comparing Excel worksheets. It clearly highlights differences. It was easy to install and very easy to use. Well suited to most users needs.

  Cons: If you have complex workbooks, it is not always easy to manage a significant number of differences. In the case of linked worksheets, knowing a difference exists is helpful, but one still needs to do some digging.
