From the moment of its inception, Yahoo Messenger for Vista, now in beta, has been a visual story. The darker, glassy look of Windows Vista, with its emphasis on translucence and layering, plays host to this next-generation treatment of a classic desktop chat client.

The application's installation window is the first evidence of Yahoo Messenger's hearty Vista embrace. We see bold black, bright white, and a gleaming, pearlized logo suggestive of a giant gel-filled Skittle. Consider our appetite whet.
