Version: 3D Photo Builder 1.2
"Complicated and mis-categorized 3D tool"
Pros: Not sure, as this tool requires you send off images to be processed by them. A3DStitcher tool does have advanced editing of roll and pitch degrees along with barrel distortion and horizontal field of view.
Cons: This tool is more for 3D product designers than panorama stitch users. I had to download separate A3DStitcher tool to put images together, and the result was horrible. Of all the stitch tools, this is the worst. Result was laughable. Interface is not easy to use. If you want to spend time manually altering settings to compose your picture, plan on spending at least a day. Any of the other apps in this category do a better job.

"This product (the panarama function) would not work for me."
Pros: The software has a nice look and feel (good use of color), and the menues look good. Selecting the panarama function was also easy as the verious function are represented as icons along the top boarder. It was also easy to select the photos for panarama processing, although when selecting photos it seemed to store them in the selection area in reverse selection order.
Cons: I tried several times to get the panarama function to work. I was trying to merge 7 photos that ranged in size from 900 kb to 1200 kb. My system has 1 gig of memory (nothing else was running) but the software kept telling me that I probably didn't have enough memory, and would I agree to 'downsample' my photos. I was not familier with the term but I said yes and it seemed to go into a loop trying to downsample.
It also asked up front if the source files (my 7 photos) should be deleted (I assumed at the end of processing) which I thought was a good function but I would have preferred that question at the end of successful processing. It went ahead and deleted the photos even though it looped and I had to cancel it. Had to recover photos once, and 'No' to that question on each subsequent attempt.
I should say that I did not try any of the other functions so I can't comment on them.
I've worked with easier software that worked better.
