This game provides fans of the old-school Arkanoid with a rather innovative and challenging alternative. In 3D Blowout Distraction Style, you find yourself in a mysterious 3D world with the task of breaking the multicolored bricks in front of you. Though we enjoyed the high-quality graphics, the sound didn't fare as well, as we detected a large amount of static through our speakers. Unfortunately, we had to live with this problem since the sound couldn't be turned down or off. You can set the screen resolution and the mouse sensitivity and select from four difficulty levels, ranging from normal to insane. The hardest level proved especially tough, since we were dodging an increasingly large amount of enemy fire while coping with a rotating board. The only thing we didn't like about the gameplay was the ball's poky pace, which unfortunately can't be altered. Still, lovers of Arkanoid and other similar games should definitely check this one out.
