Opera

Version: 9.5

THE POWER!!!! :D

Pros: OOOOOHHHH YEEEEEAAAHHHH!!!

They built it faster, stronger, better... this is the six million dollar browser!!!

I'm on Windows XP Sp2, mebbee those peeps who updated to Sp3 xo are having compat problems, but I've got a 7 year old comp that's adhered perfectly to the POWER...

Cons: NO CONS!!!

This isn't a con... just in reply to the comment below mine. If you fear it's going to crushinate your old 9.2 version of Opera do a separate install. If you like what you see (I do) import the stuff into 9.5...

Test drive your gizmoz and widgets and if they work... goodbye 9.2 ;)...

When someone's right they're right

Cons: ElectricTNT said it best... why pay for a partially functional program when you can use a fully functional FreeRAM XP for well... FREE!!

Flyff

Version: 9

Worth the download

Pros: It's free. Yes, there are optional items you can pay real cash for, as well as converting real money into play money... but unlike many other games that claim the free thing, you don't need these items to get any extra fun out of the game. In fact, since they allow personal shops, chances are that someone else bought the item you're looking for and is willing to trade it for game money.

I like the fact that you can successfully solo as long as you build your character right (except for a few mission requiring a party... not too many people do those missions anyway). There are a decent amount of jobs to choose from (after you get to level 15). Of course one of the funner aspects of the game is flying. You can fly and even take part in aerial combat (totally unneccessary and a tad awkward as well).

The game is updated regularly and the moderators (though seemingly invisible) are there. I highly recommend this game if you are tired of the drudgery of having 40 people spread all across the world try to coordinate a raid... or do anything for that matter...

An included bonus to this game is that the upper limit to a party (if you even use a party to begin with) is 8. Plus, if you REEEAAALLLY want to, you can become part of a guild. Also, outside of dueling, there is no PKing (although i do believe they have a server that supports it... enter at your own risk or preference)... which is a good thing- if you've ever tried playing a hardcore game of Diablo 2 I'm sure you understand what I mean.

Cons: Glitches. Not that many, but some channels have so many people setting up shop and walking away from the computer, or going to bed, that a tremendous amount of lag can be felt on any connection (including cable).

Speaking of lag. Lag happens out in the field as well. Depending on the server load it may just happen a whole lot. Nothing is more horrifying than kicking some one moment, and the next (after your comp catches up with the game) seeing you character dead. Dying after level 20 means you lose XP. You can level down as a result... which needless to say may take a long time to regain depending on which level you are and what job your character is.

If you're on dial-up count on playing about half an hour later (or more) after you dial up a connection. The reason being that depending on how server maintenance went on Wednesday you might have 50+ items that have to be installed first (not really a con I suppose, just an annoyance). I logged on briefly last night at 10:00... 11:45 I actually got to play.

Also, every once in a while there's a problem with a server. That means that unless you've made a character elsewhere you're pretty much screwed till the issue is resolved, which might take ten minutes, or it might take 2 weeks. I've heard certain stories about people using the premium shop only to have the objects they purchased never arrive in their account, but I'm not really going to list it as a con because it could simply be user error.

ToniArts EasyCleaner

Version: 2.0.6.380

Free but good

Pros: The interface is very user friendly, and can accomodate the newest person to the more advanced user. This program comes with a wide variety of functions and can noticeably improve your computers stability and speed.

Another good thing about this program are the help files. Which, though the slightest rough in translation to english, is still extremely helpful in explaining the functions. I prefer using this program to CCleaner because it also has a restore function built in.

*Note: Until you know what you're doing, be sure to send all deleted files to your recycle bin, this will avoid the potential damage to your comp.

Cons: Hangs up every once in a while. Also, (though I admit it could just be because I don't know how to use it properly) the search function doesn't seem to work.

Also, try not to delete-all in the Duplicates & Unnecessary windows unless you REALLY need to. In the case of duplicates, both versions of the file will be deleted, in the Unnecessary case, there are system files that ARE neccessary that this program believes aren't needed. Discretion is paramount. I suggest when dealing with either of these functions, you manually delete your way to freedom (not saying it won't take a while... which has the potential of being a CON)

The only other con I can think of is that this program hasn't had available updates forever (come on :D)

Still, all and all these cons don't co-relate to a loss of a star... go ahead, download it.

Sentinel

Version: 2.1

Yeah... about that

Pros: Looks like it's good...

Cons: I couldn't tell how effective it was because this program is out of date, therefor, it didn't keep up with the anti-virus programs it was meant to integrate with... It may work with your AV it might not. I'd suggest you pay a visit to the runtimeware website to check if your program is listed. If you're running Avira, you'll probably have to look elsewhere as the executable and arguments it suggests don't work with the current AV... (unless there is another sub-folder I'm missing for some reason...)
