Stellar Frontier

Version: 1.1

Great Game

Pros: This game has an easy interface, great chatbox and interactivity. Sometimes the offline play is nice too.

****If you'r wondering where to get a version that works online and you can actually connect write in the white box [after clicking play on internet] sf.stardock.net or sf-x.stardock.net or if you can not update it... do search in Google for "StellarFrontier Download" without quotes, the site with the description saying its 14.3 mbs has a working installer/game in a zip file.*****

The other thing I love about this game is the fleets, clans , guilds or whatever you may call them; groups. It gives you a sense of unity in a game where the lack of unity could very well rock your world since the game's very object is to conquer and to win, or to destroy enemy ships. Another great point about this game is the modification abilities throughout modding servers, or perhaps the game panels/interface itself. One more great thing is the people who at the time of this review seem to enjoy helping new players.

Last but not least is the amazing support the players dish out to the game in order to keep it available.

Despite the lag, you can get used to it depending on how good of a learner you are. Same with the controls which are easy to master within good time.

Other pros may include the fact that this game does not have 3d graphics that 'degrade' the game for example ...

games that have good graphics generally that also have good graphics for enviroments that are generally not detailed much [random computer generated enviroments] are not well suited for graphics and game relations.

As I believe games complexity and graphics should match. So if I was playing a game where all you do is move papers from box 1 to box 2 [as in the object of the game] and the graphics were 3 D; the game would not appeal to me. Now after this long explanation I'm trying to say that this game has balance between graphics, complexity and enjoyment!

Enjoy the game!

Cons: Lag, in other words the guessing game that never ends in most old games; in which you have to hit the person on *their* screen, and not your own. Which means hitting into blank space is in some cases better than hitting the person on your screen.

Another thing that is not desirable in this product is the IP addresses show; which is good and bad. For example people are always accusing someone for being someone-else they may very well be, but it's hurtfull for the person if its the case in which they are not the other party. To further the previous explanation, someone ruining your repputation could possibly ruin it; or if you are good at solving mysteries... just plain out waste your time even if the sittuation is solved and all is forgiven. In sittuations where the imposter is good, being run through the mill emotionally depressing which is a major downer for such a great game.
