Not Able to Depend on This
Pros: It is simple to use once you learn your way around. Simply drag and drop files after clicking the icon for drag and drop mode or shred files from various other sources like the recycle bin, etc.
Cons: It didn't work for me? I was using it to shred personal documents, image files and other data on an old PC with Windows 98 and 2 hard drives and thought that everything was working fine. Then I downloaded "Restoration 2.5.14" and tried using it to restore the shredded files. While the file names were changed slightly and the dates of the files may have been changed, by using the search funtion in "Restoration 2.5.14" and simply entering the file extentions for searching, I was able to find and restore files on both hard drives with file extentions .jpg and .mpv!!! I think the CNET Editor's need to retest this program and rewrite their own review. I would not depend on this program to totally make deleted files unrecoverable. I was able to use "Restoration 2.5.14" to overwrite the deleted files making them unrecoverable.
