The best music production software out there!
Pros: FLStudio is one of the most versatile hosts you will find. For a beginner just starting out in music production this software will have you enjoying what you are doing from the start. However, the complexity of the program is such that it can take awhile to fully become familiar with how it works. But once you do delve into it's deeper capabilities, you will truly realize how much ingenuity went into it's design and appreciate it's bold step away from the traditional oldschool sequencer/multitracker concept. It truly has a great workflow, which can adapt itself to the skill level of it's user.
Note that purchasing it online provides you with LIFETIME FREE UPDATES. I have been an owner since FL version 2 and now at version 8.0 I have never had to pay another dime. There aren't many companies doing that nowadays.
There are multiple purchasing levels to this software as well. Each version being a little more than the previous, price wise and feature wise. If you are thinking of purchasing FL Studio I would suggest the top purchase of the "Producer" edition. It has everything that you could want. If you buy a lessor version (like the fruityloops edition) you will most likely find yourself saying "Why didn't I buy the Producer edition" because of the missing features.
All in all, download it. The demo is a fully functioning producer edition. You just can't save your work (though you can render the songs you make as mp3 or .wav). Try it out and judge for yourself.
Cons: One thing I don't like about FL Studio is that a lot of the included soft synths are not included in the purchase. And while the FL Studio site does have a feature comparison page, it can be a bit confusing about what is included and what is a separate purchase.
