Far better in interface than IDM
Pros: IDA gives me is far better speed than not using it. I wont be able to compare its speed to similar programs, because it simply satisfy my needs very well, and have not felt the need to use other programs. I always keep downloading IDM with every new version, and always find IDA is still far better, so Im still sticking with IDA.
I will only state the features I use, although there are a lot more! (I only use a few)
1) Filter is a great feature to fetch from the same webpage all links of files with the same extension all at once!
2) Floating window is great to know what is the speed of ur downloads and their progress without openning the program.
3) great hotkeys! (if u dont like openning the program to change or limit speeds for example)
4) Download log to know whats happening with each specific download (even specific connection sessions for that download).
5) the icon of IDA in the traybar will be moving if it is downloading, and stops if it is not! Way far better than IDM arrow shape icon. I hate it! lol
6) With IDA, one can change settings for files independently, also for a whole queue.
7) Each file has priority, so you can change this so specify which file to download first.
8) The status of each file also tells you if the file will continue downloading from where it stopped, or it will restart (this depends on the server from where the file is downloaded, and IDA can tell u that)
9) You can specify number of simultaneous files to download, number of connections for each file, minimum size for openning a new connection, maximum number of erros, and some other specifications.
10) change file locations (destination location) for one file or several at the same time.
the list goes on and on!
Cons: What I dont like about the software is it is not free, lol, but compared to others its about the same price (IDM for example), so cant complain much. Another thing is when sometimes I have more than 800 files in a specific queue, IDA closes on its own If I try to change some settings. Well having that number of files is not so common, so maybe not a problem for many.
