Pros: Excellent for when you want to leave music from your computer playing for an hour when you go to sleep but don't want to leave it on all night. Simple interface and hardly confusing instructions.
Cons: It resets to 60 seconds every time it starts up so if you forget to click 60 minutes for an hour...yeah.

Pros: Its basically like the Quick Launch but more convenient, easier to add stuff to, and more customizable. It's very undemanding in terms of CPU usage. It can add everything from a shortcut on the desktop to a file path. It can be put anywhere on the border of your screen (mine's on the top) so it won't interfere with the Taskbar. I can't live without mine now.
Cons: Some of the icons are blurry/pixelated but you can download replacements. And a pixelated icon isn't the end of the world...

Pros: A very powerful 3D rendering program with plenty of tutorials to get you started. Is capable of things like Pixar and Dreamworks have done, if you have patience and passion. Works fast of my computer with only 512 MB of RAM, but I managed to overload it once by accident. Has lots of useful shortcut features but it still takes patience.
Cons: Complex processes. Not for the faint of heart.

Pros: Nice interface once you get to know it. It has both powerful and not so powerful tools (once you get to know it...). Works wonders with photo editing, animation, etc. A wide variety of tools and tool options, and plenty of downloadable, free, addons. A growing user community makes for some sweet tutorials out there too.
The sky is the limit with GIMP, I have been using it for a half year or so and still have not gone very in depth...
Cons: I have been having trouble with fonts...

Pros: It is Basically a more Convenient Quick Launch (for Windows Users), It can be easily modified to add or remove programs/File paths. The File path option is extremely helpful if you visit one folder a lot. It can be placed on anywhere on the sides of your screen and can auto hide in order to not interfere with open windows. I have Windows XP with 512 MB or RAM and my computer has not slowed down a bit since the install.
Cons: The font's color is dependent on the Skin that you use and hence can't be customized as much. The way to edit what it links it shows is right-clicking the bar itself, this is a bit annoying but is not the end of the world.
