MacRAR

Version: 2.5

go Zipeg instead

Pros: MacRar is very old... go Zipeg instead http : // *****

Cons: the rar library evolved. Zipeg supports the latest with miltipart archives and password protected encryption. MacRar does not support all of that.

Zipeg for Macintosh

Version: 2

This is the only one that can really handle Japanese filenames!

Pros: I have to exchange Zip files with filenames in both shiftjis and utf-8 encodings with my clients on both Macintosh and Windows. I tried virtually everything and Zipeg is the only one that can handle this. Not to mention that it is available for both Mac and Windows and it is FREE! Love it.
