Quality decreased drastically

Cons: I wanted to convert flv to wmf. Although I chose the maximum preset quality ("high") the resolution of the resulting wmf was drastically worse than the original flv. Funny that the editor's review starts with the words "Whether you're looking to change a video format to save space ...". Indeed, the poorer the quality the more space is saved.

Not perfect, but the best freeare to split AVI files

Pros: You can set split(cut) points very exactly using a slide bar, pagedown(=10 seconds), a mouseclick (= 2 seconds), and the arrow keys (xx milliseconds) or just play the video and klick on the stop button.

It' simple and much faster than any other freeware I tried.

Cons: Sometimes it crashed (but worked fine after re-starting it).

No exact splitting possible

Cons: one must select split points using a slidebar which moves in steps of ~ 7 seconds. It is not possible to mark a cut point exactly where you want it to be.
