Altdo DVD Ripper Diamond

Mostly functional

Pros: It's great to be able to choose what part of the dvd to record. I didn't have to hunt down an iso file or anything like that. I was able to record something in MPEG-4

Cons: The fonts are a bit wonky and I got error messages whenever I tried to actually rip something. MPEG-4 worked if I just ignored the messages, but when I tried other formats it just froze. Also the queue that tells you the dvd is being ripped isn't very informative. It's just a bunch of dots blinking on and off so there's no way to tell how much time is left before it's done.

Fox DVD Ripper Pro

"free trial" is more like an ordeal

Pros: I was actually able to rip something from a dvd. Not the part that I wanted, but...

Cons: Poor quality, confusing interface, very buggy. It seems to be the same program sold by other companies only with a different skin. Maybe the full version is better, but I have severe doubts.

Magic DVD Rip Studio

One problem: Doesn't rip DVDs

Pros: um....

Cons: It doesn't find your dvd. It is NOT one click away as advertised and when I tried to rip ten minutes of a DVD it did NOTHING. This program is excrement with shiny buttons.

B-Alarm

Version: 1.0.6

Great multifaceted alarm clock program

Pros: You can use mp3s for the alarm, you can set up several alarms at once, and you can schedule the alarm to go off on specific days of the week. You can also set it up to give you reminder messages.

Cons: Setting up the alarms is a tiny bit confusing at first. Some of the graphics on the buttons seem a bit off. You can't randomize the song that gets played as an alarm. You have to choose it ahead of time. These are very minor problems however, and at the end of the day this is a FREE program that does everything it's supposed to do.
