Has cool features, but incredibly bugged and flawed
Pros: The knowledge base features and nice and some of the capabilities are okay(generic). There is nothing to get excited about.
Cons: Where to start.
First, every time I access a field it goes to the database. It has horrible latency. The database patterns are juvenile at best.
Filtering doesn't really work and a lot of the times it will not save changes to your filter.
Status's are completely bugged. Did I mention sort doesn't work? I have been severely chewed a few times, because alexsys doesn't sort properly and some programming tickets were not showing up in my list. Thanks alexsys. In fact everyone at my company says "Don't trust alexsys for sorting. Always double check the entire list."
They don't provide a com interface to automate it's features.
Every time I want to change a text field, which is often in any enterprise environment, I have to wait in excess of 3 seconds. Thats ridiculous.
We have had this for 5 years and I finally have won the push to use Team Foundation Server from Microsoft that integrates nicely and finally be rid of the Alexsys headaches.
This program has it's uses, but it poorly written. In fact, if I wrote code this bad I would be fired.
And yes I have been using this for several years and I'm a programmer. I avoid even opening this program like the plague and so should you.
Your friendly programmer.
