iTunes

Version: 7.7

All My Songs on ITunes are Limited to DRM but 3rd Part Software Can Remove DRM

Pros: iTunes free software for iTunes is widely used by most Mac users but now Apple's music is also available for Windows Media. iTunes software was hard to grasp until I figured out it is so simple. All the music sits in one place, the library and you can make playlists of any songs in the library. Enjoy your playlist on the computer or the playlists can be burned to CD/DVD used in iPods or any MP3 player etc.,

Cons: As it says in the review, "The iTunes Store also offers DRM-free, higher sound quality songs, but they're more expensive than the standard $0.99" It seems the only music I want is the 99 cent kind and that means the music will have Digital Rights Management (DRM). I'd be happy to pay the higher price to get my music free of DRM. Since Apple does not offer all its music without DRM some people feel justified in using any of the many home grown programs which can be used to convert the DRM songs to plain old simple unfettered MP3s.

Chopper

Version: 1.1.1

Better than on my Commodore 64 in the penultimate decade of the 20th Century.

Pros: This really was one of the best of the best games for Commodore 64 in the '80s. This was a big deal because it had sound and weapons. However way back then the graphics were much cruder. Thank you to the folks who made this revival.

Cons: It is good for what it is good for, which is a nostalgia trip back to the 1980s.

Dropclock

Version: 1.0

Elegant, captivating, movements which I view as fine art.

Pros: The crisp monochromatic scenes of water and glass are exquisite images which fall into place in a easy manner both askew and correlated. It does this as it reveals the striking contrasts built into this ever evolving revelation of 24:00 hour time in four panels with interactions of glass and water in a highly controlled yet seemingly relaxed visual perception. Movement is important to this screen saver yet it is not distracting. Choices include: Large, Medium, and small.

Cons: Unfortunately $15 is more than I devote to a screensaver. For those who have the funds for Dropclock, I highly recommend it.

Tune4Mac M4P Converter for Mac

Version: 2.10

Converts iTunes to unprotected MP3s. Does what it says it will do but is a bit pricey.

Pros: This unique All-in-One feature enables Tune4Mac to convert any iTunes music and audio books to unprotected MP3, WAV, formats with fast speed and high quality.

Cons: The $34.95 price is a major expense but there is a free try before you buy offer.

Pros: Terrific because you can make up a fun or secret alias gmail email address and then anyone sending you mail at your gmail address will be automatically forwarded to your ISP's email or your Outlook Express address or your hotmail address -- whatever is your regularly used address. Of course you must set up gmail to forward all its incomming mail but it's easy.
