Spare Backup

Version: 2.8.1.182

Fact of the matter is,

Pros: It's cheap enough to back up your own data these days. This app., as many of the reviews claim ran real slow for me. Hogged system recources during a time when I was reay to shut down the PC for the day. True that access to your personal data from any location is a god feature of this app and with up to 50GB storage you can't beat it for the price. However, it's not that expensive to back up by burning a DVD ocasionally You can now buy DVD's with

capacity that exceeds 40GB although not necessary for back up as they are expensive.

Cons: For myself I'e found that a 160GB external USB attached storage device like the RD1000 sold by "Dell" for a reasoable price is the way to go. Also a 2GB "Cruzer Mini" Travel drive can be purchased for under $40.00 (if you shop) is the safest way to"TAKE IT WITH YOU" sort of speak. Personally I like to retain control over my personal data and somehow I'm just not comfortable with my info stored on someone elses server. Thus I cannot recomend this app.

My opinion hasn't,. changed.

Overpriced and Overrated

Pros: Like I said. Overpriced and Overrated. The only thing I liked about it was the clean interface. It may be good on a machine like a "Dell XPS" desktop with dual core processor and 2 GB ram. I heard good things about this product but after testing it I'd have to disagree.

Cons: Downloaded this product and before I could use it I had to create an account. Why should I have to give any personal information to use a so-called free trial.

I did then ran the updates. Afterward I ran a full scan which took forever on my #2 machine which only has 15.2 GB used on the hard disc including the OS and drivers. It has 1.5 GB ram and it was dragged down. It found 1 tracking cookie, My "Weather Bug" which is classified low risk and allowed by all my other app's. and 1 "Firefox" extension it called a "Cool Web Search Variant". Active protection is over bearing and uses more CPU than "Counter Spy" and "AVG 7.5 Anti Spyware" (Formerally "Ewido") together. Keep it. Deffinatly not for the average PC user evan with a fairley good machine.

Prevx 1

Version: 2.0.3 build 37

My good software app,s had to post bail!

Pros: Dood concept and nice interface. Works well at what it does. Free trial is fully functional. Found 3 legit problems that I put in from a CD to test "Prevx" and 2 legit, good app's.

Cons: Locked up "AOL Active security Monitor" and "Privacy Eraser Pro". Had to get them out of jail! Needs work and an updated version with an increased knowledge base.

Tracks Eraser Pro

Version: 5.0

Quality Cleaning Program.

Pros: I also have and have been using "Privacy Eraser Pro". However from the start I noticed it alwasy erases one reg. key during the online session cleaning. I couldn't figure this out but started wondering about it and decided to look elsewhere for a program as good but without this troubeling

reg' key delete. I've found it here with "Tracke Eraser Pro". It does everything. Cleans all of my browsers. windows functions I choose including the recycle bin. It is VERY configurable and can be set to clean upon start up or shut down.etc., etc. I use this type app not only to protect my privacy but as a kind of front ender for my security app's. "Tracks Eraser Pro" does it all and NEVER erases a reg. key. So I have switched. 5 stars to this easy to use and effective app. and it's publisher.

Cons: After two weeks of use I have found none.
