Not recommended

Pros: very basic, too basic

Cons: Use at your own risk. Too basic. Lost a whole weeks work of an already saved project in 30 seconds after clicking on "auto-save project on exit". Who would think that auto-save project on exit will mean replace an already saved project several times over with a blank one? No recovery option, and no autosave of backups. This software is unstable, and watered down indeed. The templates are very few, of very inferior design, and is only added after creating a page. The template should be available to be worked on at the new page starting process so that one can see, but it is added only after the work is done and it is being finally displayed on the browser. Kind of silly method for WYSIWYG. Its free, but it appears to be like a software designed in the basement of a garage. Poor indeed.

Foreign website with no information, and with email link for assistance

Pros: None

Cons: This is a very confusing name IQ PCTOOLS1. The original PC Tools is a global leader in innovative software products designed to protect the privacy and security of Windows computer users. PCTOOLS are the makers of Registry Mechanic, and Spyware Doctor and lots of other software and are well noted and respected in the software industry. CNET Link to this website of IQ's PCTools1 was found to be foreign, with no information whatsoever besides links to download other software. The site appears not to be ready yet, and with email link. It is unclear that this is the same PCTOOLS. If it is, they would not direct users to an unknown website instead of to theirs. In my opinion, PCTOOLS1 is not a PCTOOLS product. It only has a similar name to that of an already established PCTOOLS company. It is a risk to download and install this at this stage.

A good browser

Pros: Fast, smaller, intuitive, more peace of mind knowing that less junk is being snuck into and dumped into your pc fron the websites you visit, as it is with IExplorer. When you run those antispyware etc utilities programs on your pc after you browse with Firefox, you will certainly notice a marked difference and drop in any snuck in junk from the visited websites. That is not the same with using the IExplorer, where tons of spyware etc. are left on your machine each time. It will be interesting to find out how much financial losses IExplorer with its flaws have cost its users over the years.

Cons: More security. Some few websites do adjust to Firefox during browsing, and do display very slight insignificant variations. This trade-of is to me very minor when compared to the junk that is routinely dumped into my pc by browsing with IExplorer.

Do Not Use. Mcafee Site Advisor Also Warns Against!!

Pros: Free software downloaders beware. Downloads adware, Malware and spywares. Do Not Use. Mcafee Site Advisor Also Warns Against!!

Cons: A dangerous software. Even Mcafee Site Advisor also warns against even logging into their website!! The software installs ZANGO and several other malware, adware, and other insidious spyware that is difficult to remove. The earlier versions were better and spyware free. These later versions should not be given a forum for listing the software in my opinion on a very credible CNET. Regardless of the quality of a product, surreptitiously installing spyware render it a big fat zero. They now use it as a vehicle for other dark sides to download and install all of the mentioned software on the systems. They went to the dark side for sure.

Umax Magicscan Update

Poor and confusing support

Pros: Magicscan 4.5 is a good program, which I have used at various times.

Cons: Magicscan 4.5 does appear not to have been updated by Umax since 2001. This is rather not very good considering the fact that it was introduced for the high end Umax scanners, and it is also used by a majority of the other Umax scanners. Being able to download it is another story in itself. Be aware that it is made available for download in different types of formats. So be sure to download the right one from the right site. I tried most sites, and finally decided to download from the USA site of Umax.com. It was downloaded as mscan45.exe in an application file format of 28.2 MB size. The Umax UK site is very slow indeed as I tried it well over 6 times with my high speed DSL, and it only could connect at half of a normal dial-up speed. I will stay away from it. The Cnet Download site which is also my most favorite site, has it listed as mscan45.HQX. It was in HQX file format of 26.7 MB. Unless you have an installed program that can unravel an HQX file format, I will stay away from downloading it in that format too.
