Vista Start Menu
Version: 2.8.9Love the design and layout, but...
Pros: Easy to use, very quick to find anything, can't be faulted if you are forever going into your computer to do this or tweak that.
Cons: First version I had was 2.7, worked fine. Upgrade to 2.8 just didn't work right at first, left it a couple of weeks and re-installed, was ok. Guess they got a bug out!
2.8.9 is not compatable with Tweak 'n Tune's X-mouse, and a persistent pop-up link to an alternative 'True X-Mouse' (which I tried) did something weird to ATI, so beware. Have gone back to earlier version again.

Pros: Very fast, probably because there are no bells or whistles. For a quick browse it's very good.
Cons: I like my bells and whistles, so will continue to use Firefox for general use. Would like a prettier skin, but I'm sure that will come.

Auslogics Disk Defrag
Version: 1.4.1.2Quick and Easy
Pros: Simple to install, easy to use. It does only defrag, no compacting etc, but takes virtually no time to run even on bigger drives. Use for maintenance, and do a full one with windows at intervals, and your PC will run sweet.

Ad-Aware 2007
Version: 7.0.2.7Does what it says on the tin
Pros: Works fine for me, used in conjunction with other CNet top rated freeware, a Firewall, AV and Anti-spy. Not been invaded since I started using them about four years ago.
Cons: I marginally preferred the earlier, simpler version, which was a bit quicker and more stable, but I guess this will be ironed out.
