SpywareBlaster

Version: 3.5.1

Free and easy to use

Pros: Easy to set up after installation, a short wizard will tell you how to get started. The interface is simple and straightforward. Combined with a spyware removal software, your computer will be protected.

Cons: Autoupdate is a payed service, but still you can update it manually. Overall, great product.

1-Click Answers

Version: 2.3

Useful learning software

Pros: Improved UI loads fast with Alt+click. The answerbar in the low right corner of your screen is easily accessible, hides into a small arrow when you don't need it and you can always deactivate it if you don't want it. Daily highlights right into your desktop from Answers.com are a good way to learn something everyday, from spelling, news and word of the day.

Cons: The answers bar integrated into the Alt-click window would be nice

Mozilla Firefox

Version: 1.5.0.6

I don't know why i didn't download this sooner!!!

Pros: FF enhances your experience of surfing the internet. It gives u flexibility with its add-ons but the program alone is better than IE. FF provides more security options and a feature to control all your passwords so you don't have to remember them all. The interface is much cleaner and surfing will be better by using the tabs. But it's the extensions, plug-ins and themes that complete the package. With the extensions, you can increase security, have more options for tab surfing or view pages in IE format. The plug-ins let you search in popular sites like google, ask.com and amazon directly from the browser.

Cons: Not all extensions are worth downloading, some have bugs that need fixing and if you download too many, it will slow FF at startup. Be sure to read all the infomation and reviews in the FF Extensions site as well as in this site before downloading.

uTorrent

Version: 1.6.1

Not recomended for people with routers!

Pros: Small, no memory hog, considerably easy to use, skins available.

Cons: It doesn't allow auto port-forwarding for your router. You have to go through a lengthy configuration to manually forward your port. If you don't, download connections will be slower. I recomend BitComet or Azureus, although bigger in size, they automatically forward ports.

Reliable, but...

Pros: Still a good product but ...

Cons: ...I would like to see some changes in the way to manage and edit collections like drag and drop to move photos between collections
