Pros: After buying WinZip out of guilt several years back, I then found I had to pay for an upgrade. Instead I looked around and found WinRAR. I tested it for and bought a license. It handles RAR and ZIP formats (as well as a bunch of others) and you also get versions for platforms like PocketPC thrown in. The updates and features I actually want.

Pros: It looked like a promising Basic compiler, just a pity it is no longer being developed.
Cons: The product is no longer actively supported. the support forums are down, and the website is running in automatic mode. Don't waste your money on abandonware.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: The user-interface is cluttered and confusing, and the program appears to be registered to another company. The Program also says it expires on July 1, 2007

Pros: Seems to have a lot of functionality
Cons: This is advertised as freeware but shows a nag screen asking to be registered!

Pros: This is a useful utility, fully customizable. It is surprising how useful a command-line type utility in Windows XP can be, especially when you can add you own commands (Run a program, open a web page etc etc). The autofill and history features also means you don't have to even remember the command names, known as MagicWords.
Cons: Would like an auto-scan feature like Launchy to add everything from Start Menu.
More macros would be great as well.
