HammerHead Rhythm Station

Version: 1.0

Easy to use, can save in wav format. Useful tool!

Pros: It's quick and intuitive to use, you can make some impressive sounding drum loops just by trial and error point-n-clicking. You can change bpm, distort and save existing samples to create totally new sounds.

Cons: Being able to save in mp3 format would be nice but it's easy enough to convert with other software.

Total Menu

Version: 1.0

Not a program, just a swf and xml file.

Pros: Handy if you know what you're doing and don't mind going through the XML code in Notepad to customise the menu. Oh and if you also want a handy link to the developer's site as your first button (until you register) then this is the tool for you!

Cons: It's not a program! It assumes a certain level of knowledge or ability to get what you want from it, you need a Flash editor (such as Flash MX) to edit the font and the first button always leads to the developer's site....just an advert.

Virtual Drum

Version: 1

Saved loops are saved in .drm format....useless to me!

Pros: Simple and intuitive to use.

Cons: I want to be able to use my saved loops in other programs so it would make more sense for the save format to be wav or mp3...a standard format of some kind anyway. I've never heard of .drm format before but apparently Cubase uses this file extension so maybe the loops work in that.

I searched for a way to convert the file to a common format but couldn't find one.

.......Overall, what looks like a promising and easy to use program is let down by the fact you can't easilly use your saved loops in other programs.

Opera Mini

Version: 1.2

Looked good, shame it wouldn't work on Samsung D500.

Pros: Wouldn't know.

Cons: When sending HTTP info (during setup) it just seems to hang forever. Maybe I'm just being impatient, but I think waiting over 10 minutes is long enough.
