Pros: Fast. Very fast. Faster than any other defrag utility I've used. And for those of you who have Vista, and miss watching those pretty color changing cubes during a defrag, AusLogics brings them back.
Cons: No automation (scheduled runs). This is fast enough though, that it's not really necessary.

Pros: Extremely fast, looks good, easy to use. I highly recommend this.
Cons: You can't automate defrags. This is in their paid version, though.

Pros: VLC media player does everything. It plays almost any media file you could imagine, and can read and broadcast streams as well as read from capture devices such as TV tuners and webcams. VLC is free and open sourced, and is also skinnable. VLC also has the ability to convert audio and video files somewhat. You can also get a portable version of VLC to put on a flash drive or similar. Definitely better than a codec pack for WMP.
Cons: VLC doesn't have the most user friendly interface, it doesn't recognize commands from many PC remote controls, and it does a very bad job at converting files. Other than those, the only complaint I can think of is that it doesn't have good looking icons for media files that it opens.

Pros: :-(
Cons: It's badly designed. When you start the installer, you're greeted with the Windows 95 startup sound. NOT a good omen. Out of the sake of curiosity, I continued to discover that this is a confusing badly designed piece of software that bombards you with sound effects and ads, and doesn't even save the converted video file (maybe because I'm using Vista and not Stonehenge?). I truly have no idea how this got a 4... Try Any Video Converter free instead.

Pros: Icon sushi works well at what it's supposed to do. It's super easy to figure out also. Before this, I used IconDeveloper and that was a piece of junk compared to this.
