Pros: Good product(firewall), but keep to the tried and true versions. I use Windows XP (HomeEd.) OS and never had any problems with ZA other than one minor periodic issue with the True Vector engine freezing up. You Zonealarm veterans would know that a simple restart fixes that. All I simply do is stick with a stable version, and "yes" version 5.5 was a good one too, and stay with it. A good place to obtain older versions is just that @ oldversion.com and just go through the links.
Give the "guineapigs" time to review the new Za's and see what happens. Good software if one new to ZA simply takes the time to read the tutorial and readme's. One reviewer even complained about all the ZA alerts going off and found it overwhelming, apparently, and gave it a bad review. Well that phase was just the configuration mode. Once you 'teach' ZA about your surfing and multi habits then it shuts up! It really takes little time to figure it out, but is definitely worth the download. I'm sure everyone can agree to read both the positive and negative reviews of any software and ultimately use thier own judgement. It's also free! Me? Hell, I don't have any real cons except...
Cons: It CAN be a bit of a RAM hog if you don't have the hardware.
Eg. zlclient.exe - 1850 K
. vsmon.exe - 15000 K
On a Windows XP - Home Ed OS. with 1024 Ram. Some computer configurations may make certain ZA versions unstable.
