Bravo!

Pros: Finally, an antivirus that does not hog system resources. It also runs virus checks in the background daily and it automatically downloads updates. I'm in the computer repair business and will use AVG to locate and to remove viruses from clients' computers. It is easy to configure and takes up a minimal amount of hard drive space. I've performed tests against Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro, Nod32, F-Secure and found that AVG finds and eliminates/heals more than all the other antivirus programs.

Horrible! Worst antivirus on the market this year!

Cons: It consumes lots of resources. It is almost impossible to uninstall. I recently scanned for viruses using norton 2008 and it said it found none. I then scanned my system again with AVG Free Antivirus and it said there were 5 trojan viruses in my system. Norton is a joke! If you want to remain infected with viruses, buy this horrible software.

horrible software

Pros: nothing...absolutely nothing!

Cons: Without my permission or my knowledge, another program called ad-watch was installed. I tried to remove it via the add/remove but there was not an uninstall key for it. The only way to get rid of this spyware was to uninstall adaware. I then noticed prior to uninstalling that the software would not update at all. I tried several times and at different times of the day and it would not update. I uninstalled and then downloaded a different copy of it and the same thing happened. This software is a joke!
