EXTREMELY DANGEROUS

Pros: Nothing - I paid for this thing, and it has wrecked my computer.

Cons: Despite its pretty interface, this program will slowly but surely WRECK your registry. By the time you get problems, it will be too late (the "undo" files won't go far enough back to repair the damage.

Several over-the-counter titles have had problems, and when I call for assistance, all companies have asked if I had an online registry repair-type program installed. I removed a program this morning, and now when I launch Registry Mechanic, it tries to install another program - one I already have installed (and never had problems with) - and will not allow me to access THAT program, or run Registry Mechanic.

Attempting to use Windows' built-in Restore function has also proven futile now.

BEWARE! THIS WILL SLOWLY, BUT SURELY, REQUIRE YOU TO REINSTALL YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM.

Period.

Identified as "MALWARE" by Avast, which is also rated as "5 stars" on this site

Pros: I terminated the download because Avast Anti-virus software -- another bit of freeware identified on download.com as 5 stars -- identified the .Zip file as MALWARE.

Cons: You may think this is irony. For me, it's confirmation the clowns at CNET aren't nearly as smart as they should be.

Works on YouTube; not on numerous others

Pros: When it works, it does what it says.

Cons: It doesn't work with many sites.
