There are FREE equivalent alternatives to this!

Try LogMeIn, a FREE user friendly version at https://secure.logmein.com/ Why pay for this software when LogMeIn does the exact same thing for FREE and just charges $12.95 a month to transfer files if you ain't clever enough to use IM, email or ftp to do that! A company that advertises so much all over the place probably has not much to sell or faces stiff competition from smarter, free products.

AppRocket

Version: 1.2

Sheer Genius

Pros: This product is sheer genius.

The application sits on the top of the screen as a bar, and all you need to do is just begin to type the first few letters of the application / document / mp3 / movie / practically anything on your computer, and AppRocket will search it out *as you type*. Once you have the application / document you're looking for after three to four keystrokes, press enter and it will be launched.

To focus on AppRocket, one doesn't have to reach for the mouse. The convenient combo of Alt+Space focusses it.

And finally, it looks to me like the search capability sharpens over use-- the application learns which documents / applications I use frequently. The first few times I used it, I was shocked to see the accuracy of this utility in reading my mind. And then it kept getting better!

It has some nice skins that make it look pretty too!

This is definitely a powerful and useful application sitting behind an unassuming interface. The RAM used is remarkably innocuous. A very professionally coded piece of inspired software. I'd recommend it as a *must have* utility for anyone who uses the computer for several purposes.

Highly recommended! Wish it were free

Really useful and nice visualisation when working with a ton of windows. Some room for improvement: 1. Shortcuts / launchers / a command line should have a place on the desktop. One can't launch any new application from within it (the prime reason I won't buy it), 2. Windows opened from the taskbar get smaller, 3. Trying to minimise Winamp crashes it, 4. My active desktop is completely obliterated. That doesn't stop this from being a ground breaking product, especially for its simplicity and usability. The other 3-D desktops don't compare.
