An excellent product.
Pros: I rarely give a 5 stars. To me that's 'perfect' and nothing is. I switch between Avast and AVG, which ever annoys me goes and so on.
Avast, I must reluctantly admit is superior. Most of all I like the boot scan. Set it up, schedule it and go to bed. When you get up all is done along with a list of recommendations (if you checked the allow logue). I can set a 'quick scan' for all downloads. It also has a fast and constant update. Remember, as in all software you must set up your preferences and find out how. Its on access scanning can be turned off with a click in the systray and restarted the same way. All ant-virus software will call something a virus and you decide it is not. You can, after re-starting Avast, enter it as an exception.
Cons: Avast will argue with you over what is a virus and what is not far more strongly than most others. It will freeze your opening a new piece of software and the only way around it is to turn Avast on access off and start again. This can be a nuisence for P2P users. But all its attributes make Avast worth while.
