PatchFactory

Version: 3.2 build 002

Incredibly small size of generated patches!

Pros: This release works great and produces exttremely small patches. The way the developers designed the interface of the program is really impressive. So that I can maintain all the versions of my software products in one project.

PatchFactory

Version: 3.3 build 003

Comprehensive solution for patch building and maintenance!

Pros: PatchFactory v3 appears to have enjoyed a ground-up re-write. The user interface now sports an Outlook-style appearance (treeview on the left and a detail pane on the right).

PatchFactory v3 now has a lot of new functionality; I had to work around this new functionality. It now supports a much more complex patching model; this too had to be understood before a simple demo could be created.

Authors have targeted the pricing at an appropriate level - it seems that they have listened to public opinion surrounding pricing structures, which seem to be rather emotive. So if you are a small company, you pay less than larger corporates, which seems fair. The company also provides excellent and prompt customer service.

The HTML Help file weighs in at 315KB and brings with it full coverage of PatchFactory v3. The help system is detailed, offering scenario-based walk-throughs and wizard-like step-by-step approaches. Flash demo is also available from the author's website.

I am pleased to recommend PatchFactory v3. It is a solid product that is robust in use and does what it says it will do, and it does it well. If you are looking for an application patching solution, do consider PatchFactory v3!

PatchFactory

Version: 2.1

Simple yet powerfull. Why did I bother with anything else!

It took me about 15 minutes, including the download and installation time of PatchFactory, to create a professional patch installation package for my own software. This application should be at the top of the list. It's easy to use, works on any Windows OS, and creates a final product that conforms to what we expect of the update installation process. Don't waste your time or money on something else!
