Be very careful! Hidden spy-ware

Pros: Some useful features. It sped up my system.

Cons: I would be very careful with this program. I tried an earlier version (ver. 2), which I liked at first. I found that it sped up my system. However, after doing a ZoneAlarm anti-spyware check, I discovered that it has a hidden key-logging program -- MindSoft Secret Agent -- that is recording all my keystrokes. I wrote to Systerac, but they denied its existence. However, when I showed them exactly where the program is hidden, they did not respond. Furthermore, when ZoneAlarm quarantines or deletes the program, Systerac will no longer run, but when the program is restored, it does, so it's obviously built in. The program is hidden in the following file: Program Files/Systerac XP Tools 2/ShlDlgs.ocx. I don't know if it is in version 3, but one should check and be wary.

Great program. Use it all the time

Pros: This is a very useful program for setting alarms, reminders, running programs at specific times, or shutting down the computer. I use it all the time. The interface is simple, though the skins and colors leave a something to be desired.

You get what you pay for

Pros: Considering the price - free - it's not a bad OCR program. It makes a lot of mistakes, but allows you to fix them as you review the text. Unfortunately, that makes text scanning a time-consuming operation. On the other hand, given the price of a high-quality OCR program (I've found Scan2Text to be excellent), it's better than nothing.
