Pros: Easy enough to use to start browsing, but technical enough for the advanced surfer. It also has plugins, and macros that give the browser more functionality. The browser renders beautifully, and quickly. With K-M loader I can start the browser quickly. K-Meleon has come a long way, and it's definitely a browser to look forward upon future releases. If you want to get to places quickly without laggyness, or slow-downs this alternative browser definitely is the choice compared to the more popular alternative browsers.

Cons: I would like to customize the main toolbar by removing buttons, and rearranging them. Other than that the browser is great.

Best browser overall

Pros: Light, fast, and secure. Better than Firefox as far as security history. Mozilla extensions simply add a vulnerability. While does make the browser more flexible it is best you use applications seperately and unintergrated. For example IE and Explorer. One of the best ways to improve security.

Cons: Customizing the browser can be a bit confusing difficult, but as you get familar with the browser, it should be easy.

Avant Browser

Improves your web surfing greatly.

Pros: While it seems Avant Browser updates without any visible improvement it is indeed improving. They maybe minor, but is improving. The browser requires Internet Explorer, but adds much more to the IE package. Tabbed browsing, URL alias, popup blocker, ad-blocker, groups, and RSS feeds. What really makes this browser shine is how well the menus are laid out for a browser with many features. You can still access IE's options through the programs in addition. You can customize the browser to you liking removing as well as moving around toolbars, and buttons.

Cons: Internet Explorer is very old. While the browser still relies on it. It does give it some advantages. Namely web compatibility without the bugs that Opera, and Mozilla suffer from such as excess memory, and CPU usage, but that's where the advantages end. New and fresher browsing engines are becoming better and better over time. Microsoft has released many security patches for IE, but since SP2, it seems the more you update, the more you are restricted from viewing the web for security sake. Avant Browser is only the beginning. The author is making another browser based on the Firefox engine. Eventually they will merge into one browser giving the compatibility and security of both worlds. Avant Browser is not going to just stay in one place. It is evolving with the changing times. That is the word is at least.

Cool little program.

Pros: Nice interface. Easy to use. Good sound quality. Who needs the telephone? Good to keep in touch with long distance friends and family without the expenses. Cheap PC to phone service.

Cons: Need video calls and video conferencing. It's the Internet afterall. Need to find missed calls.

AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition

For a free anti-virus, I guess it's up to you.

Pros: AVG Free Edition I suppose is good enough if you want basic virus protection. I don't really need a virus scanner I don't think, but I use AVG Free Edition for some rudimentary virus detection. It did catch a trojan in my IE cache from a emulator site I was visiting. It give me various options such as heal, delete, etc. I chose delete. I suppose AVG Free Edition is good enough for those who update their Windows, and don't get into malicious Internet activity. I didn't find the new menus to be too bad. I think it's simplier infact. Grisoft bundles Kerio Personal Firewall with their anti-virus as a package. I use to be a Kerio user when I needed a firewall and I think if you need a firewall along with this program, you should check out Kerio firewall too which is a good firewall in my opinion that you can get for free as well.

Cons: AVG Free Edition updates when you don't want to.
