Won't even run without stupid .NET being installed

Pros: Hardly Windows 98/Me/NT usable is it?

And CNET's review page, which I am typiing in, is a total piece of ***** now.

This page ONLY works with Internet "virus-magnet" Destroyer.

It won't even display this box where I am typiing this review unless you use IE (no, not even in FireFox).

Cons: Doesn't run without .NET. Period. More heavy-weight bloatware ---

COME ON, just for editing pictures?

Crashes on Mac OS 8.6 since Feb 2004

Used to work fine. Simultaneously quit working on both of my OS 8.6 Macintoshes earlier this year. Forums are full of postings from people with the same problem. Yahoo! doesn't respond worth diddly. All you get from their support is automated responses. If they want to cut off support for OS 8.6, fine. Why don't they just say so. Instead their site keeps claiming that this runs on OS 8.6.

No transistor, no diodes, what good is it?

Easy to use. Drag-and-click components. Click them together. Build a schematic. All of that is terrific. But... they only support passive components (like resistors, inductors, capacitors), and op amps. There are no transistors or diodes. This makes almost any circuit design virtually impossible.

Simple DNS Plus

Version: 3.60.01

Works well, support is spotty, some serious bugs

Pros: Installation and setup are easy. DNS concepts like SOA records, TTL, etc, are well-explained, so if you are a DNS novice, you'll learn a lot just by using this. Nice HTTP interface makes using this as a Dyn DNS server easy.

Cons: Support is very questionable. Replies take days, and when they come, they do not contain much technical knowledge. If you are a programmer, like me, trying to use this as part of an application you are working on, you will be frustrated by the "consumer" type answers you will get to technical problems.

Getting the primary/secondary mechanism to work right (if you set up a primary and secondary DNS with this product) is flakey. The system has bugs related to hanging on to WinSock ports, not zone-refreshing with firewalls enabled, and having the primary "block" the secondary as a "spammer". These things can be worked around, after much consternation, but support has been lacking in these areas.
