Installs Spyware?
Pros: none
Cons: 1. 1st thing it did when run for about 5 minutes was tell me about my registry and recommended their own software to fix it (did I ask you to look at the registry? is this program FOR the registry? ... NO!!).
2. Then when I told it to go away and carry on the scan it just sat there doing nothing. CPU was at full but the HD was sitting idle. Left for another few minutes before telling it to cancel.
3. On cancelling it ... it still sat there doing nothing using 93% of my cpu, that includes not canceling.
4. On uninstalling up pop a few "pet patrol " warning boxes about a few files, which I'm assuming THIS program dropped when I removed it, don't know what they were, be it cookies or what but it was enough to trigger CA's etrust PestPatrol which is enough for me to completely distrust this program.
I advise you to avoid this program along with every other program they make.
On their site they complain about McAfee site advisor:
"A big red cross (warning) definitely states the presence of a virus and/or spyware activity on the rated site. Their motto reads as follows: "Protection from Adware, Spam and Viruses". Here comes the surprise: the company "Smart PC Solutions" has nothing to do with spreading viruses yet it has received a rating of a Big Red Cross - beware of the virus threat!"
If they READ the warning it says " ... AND/OR SPYWARE ACTIVITY..." and spyware is exactly what they are active in! McAfee are 100% accurate in their warning.
A definate no no and a company to avoid.
