Pros: Konfabulator is amazing...the latest 2.0 release adds several new advanced features, including enhanced transparency abilities, and it requires even less system resources. In addition, their gallery contains tons of third-party widgets....everything from the weather and stock quotes to RSS feeds and cute animations.

Oh, and by the way....IT'S NOW FREE! Yahoo! announced today that they have purchased the three-man company and will be giving the software out for free...with no catches. (If you bought version 2.0+, they're even giving you a refund!) In addition, they plan to integrate it with Yahoo! services to make it even more advanced. Nothing but problems: Numerous compatability issues!

Pros: After reading all of the reviews, I decided to download and try it. Unfortunately, everything went wrong from there.

Cons: When I tried to download from this site, all I got was a 57KB compressed folder that was identified as being corrupt. I then downloaded the full file directly from Eidos without issue.

However, once installed, the problems continued. The game failed to adjust its dimensions to fit my 17" monitor: the 15" screen was simply stretched, which caused a good amount of distortion. Once it was loaded, the mouse moved in a slow, jerking motion, and the screen kept turning white and black.

The Eidos site gave a description of the problem, but states that it occurs with graphics card drivers created before October 2003. My computer is less than a month old, and thus should not be affected. I downloaded the posted patch anyway, just to find out that the patch would not install because it could not find the game installed. (Apparently you can only install the graphics patch if you have the full version of the game.)

*Note* Some of the posted incompatibilities include Windows 98, Windows ME, some ATI graphics cards, and drivers made before October 2003, with many more which are not listed on their website.

Overall, I'm disappointed. I loved Hitman 2, and was looking forward to trying Hitman: Contracts. Eidos needs to put some serious work on into fixing their compatability issues. However, if computer is compatible, please disreguard this poor review.

Superb file extraction utility...

Pros: This free, powerful extractor can extract files from over a dozen different archive formats, including ZIP, RAR, ISO, BIN, ACE, and JAR. In addition, its support for drag-and-drop batch file conversion saves time and effort, something the Windows extractor would rather waste. Finally, I have found it to get the job done faster than most of the other free alternatives, making this my favorites and primary extraction utility.

Cons: The only downside is that it cannot create compressed archives, only extract the contents from them.
