Decent free anti-virus

Pros: I've been using AVG 7.5 for years it was excellent but unfortunately AVG 8.0 was a disappointment improved interface but unstable so after many recommendations decided to try Avast and its a good free anti-virus and light on system resources, the Vista skin I'm using is very nice to use.

Cons: Can install some unnecessary components so I'd recommend choosing the custom install option and choosing just the ones you need.

The default interface is terrible, but there are plenty of skins available, the rotating icon can be distracting but can be turned off.

Good fixed major problem

Pros: Very easy one click fix doesn't get simpler than this, my computer was acting very wired, the control panel would not load kept getting a explorer.exe error, firefox would not open new tabs, one click and everyone works, amazing!

Cons: Did make a few odd changes to the menu colour in WordPad and Windows Live Messenger but can live with that it fixed all the major problems.

Worthless would not update

Pros: Quick install

Cons: Tried AntiVir after it beat AVG in the AV comparison tests, but it would not update, and an out of date anti-virus is useless have gone back to AVG 8.0.
