Finally, a better looking Spybot!
Pros: I kind of like the way Spybot looks now. It still has some of its original design, but I see a bit of an improvement in several things.
1) The update module now opens in a new window, making it easier for people to use; one would be able to know the nearest download location (provided he/she knows where he/she is in the world, or an Atlas would be needed), and get most of the crucial downloads highlighted, unlike v1.4 where one needs to tick all the options.
2) The Immunize feature is now much easier to understand, in terms of how far its protection can cover. Covers IE and Firefox, though I'm not sure if it covers other areas as well.
Cons: Several problems I come across in the new version are:
- The speed is still the same in the scanning, given that it had a HUGE list of definitions (700000+ I think).
- I now face a problem while exploring Download.com recently. Going to the main page of a program in Download.com is now almost empty i.e. I can't see the details, and the users' and CNET Reviewers on the programs at all! Or is this related to another program...
- TeaTimer still looks the same, and even after editing using the same trick to v1.4, I still can't see the contents of the buttons below. And, TeaTimer REALLY needs to be better. I can hardly understand many changes that occur in the registry.
In any case, Spybot Search & Destroy had quite a revamp in some of its interface. I look forward to whatever patch it'll provide in the future.
