Netscape Communicator (32-bit Complete Install)

Version: 4.79

Its life cycle is over

It was good.. back when it was released. But things evolve, and the Internet is the biggest example of that. I can't say it's bad because it was designed for its moment, and it was quite efficient back when it was released. But not anymore. And it isn't standards-compliant because, well, standards weren't set back when it was designed. So I won't dis it, but recommend you all to upgrade to the faster, leaner, more efficient and more complete Netscape 7.02, which is my browser of choice, even with Opera 7.10 installed in my machine. Download this only if you need it badly, or you just want a little nostalgia trip.

Mozilla Firefox

Version: 1.0

It's here

I have used every browser on Earth, and I have to say I've been a Firefox fan from over 2 years now. And now it's out of the veil of beta testing and into the mainstream. If you haven't used it yet, well... it costs you nothing to give it a spin. Trust me. Faster, sleeker, and with a no-frills design which will win many hearts. It is flexible enough to be non-compromising and embraceable enough for new users; yet powerful and stable for experienced ones. If there's a way of describing balance and comfort in a web browser, it would be Firefox. More secure than its MS counterpart, it should help you and your system to be rid of spyware and viruses.

RealPlayer

Version: 10

I think there are better

What do Major League Baseball, the BBC and, The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation have in common? that in order to enjoy their multimedia content online you have to use Real Player. RealOne was a step into trying to cram all computer media solutions (video, audio, CD, MP3) into one-size-fits-all but wasn't all that bright. This new version plays better video and audio, which is something to say, but it still lacks depth and sound quality compared to other solutions such as iTunes and Winamp. But then again, if you want to watch the 10 o'clock news from London, the National or Milo Hamilton from Minute Maid Park, Real is mandatory in your desktop. Not bad, but...
