Pathways Planner Free Edition

Version: 4

Well....

Pros: This software had a lot of goal oriented planning which I liked. It was also very flexible and had a great tutorial. Also worked in Vista.

Cons: Glitch, Definitely Not perfect. Some of the captions on the windows where you type in titles for your goals just didn't work. I think that is also why a lot of people here found the software confusing.

I will admit that it does take some figuring out, but a lot of that is hindered by software glitches, and how many steps that you need to take just to do one simple thing. Just switching to the address book requires that you set up something completely unrelated to it first, and it is the same way for the to do list, calendar etc.

This software needs to be simpler to use and it needs more work to get the bugs out of it. The interface could use a little work too. Then it will be worth the download.

Debrief

Great software ruined by....

Pros: This program works in Vista, and is very stable.

Cons: Too much work to get into it. I understand that there is a paid version of the software license, but I don't want to hear about it every time I go to view my schedule. It's like a three step process just to get into it only to have it lock you out if you forget to register it..

I eventually ended up not using this and downloading something else. If you offer something for free you should just do it instead of shaking your customers down for cash everytime the go to use your software. I'd rather just download something that had banner ad's built into it than deal with this software.

Keybreeze

Version: 3.1.1

Nice program with a small flaw

Pros: This software is excellent. It even has a notes program built into it for making small notes. Many programs come right up after you have typed just the first three letters in their name. It's small, stable, unobtrusive, and great if you have a laptop and want a break from using your touchpad. (BTW im using vista)

Cons: The only problem I have with it is that in vista it can sometimes prevent the computer from shutting down. You need to tell the computer to shut the prgram down. Which isn't really a bother, but can have you a little annoyed if you're shutting down in a hurry. Other than that it's fine, and one of the best app launchers that i've found for vista.

8Start Launcher

Version: 1.5

Doesn't work with vista

Pros: Good interface, and software concept

Cons: Whenever you tried to set up any buttons while using this software in vista it just crashes, there's no fix for it either. I loved the concept for this program, but it would not work with vista.

Open Menu+

Version: 1.5

Dont waste your time

Pros: It had skins, ran somewhat smoothly

Cons: The skins in this program were awful. They made the program almost unuseable (since most of them were to light to see what you were even doing).

Also I installed this program on vista, and while it ran smoothly, it was still pretty much the same as the start menu that came with vista. You couldn't add or remove any programs from it, and the fact that it completely replaced the start menu was something I didn't like. It gave an option to be displayed beside the start menu, but anyone that had ever used vista knows that two of those menu's are not solving any problems.

As I said before it's pretty much the same as a regular start menu. If you could add or remove programs from it, or even change it to float on the desktop that would be helpful, but all this has to offer is a search function that is really just like what you already have. Don't waste your time.
