You take the good, You take bad, The facts of life, You're still not protected
Pros: Has been a strong AV program for keeping my computer virus clean for the last few years.
Cons: Does a poor job on viruses that attack Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, and other useful programs. For these viruses you need to buy an Internet Security package, because without it and when the virus changes to first attack say IE, then is changed to attack your system's registry or partition, I guess these single AV packages say, well we are not set up to protect Internet Exporer, so guess what, your computer is toast. It is all very complicated, but one day, I was updating Nero's Antivirus Scanner feature, and the next thing i know my computer went Blue Screen, after a restart, it said my Catalog something had changed, and one more restart I find that my Partition was destroyed/changed. Ok pretty awful, but then I throw in my backup drive, and after spending hours seeing what i could do about a damaged partition (not much I guess except copying the drives contents over to a new drive using something like Runtime's GetDataBack for NTFS/FAT), I then, get an Instant Message from someone the very next day telling me to click on my Photos. I do it in my delirious state, and wallah, yet another virus Norton can't handle. There are very few AV packages that do it all and Norton AV ranks right up there, however Panda Antivirus was the only one to remove such a Virus. But thinking back now would Norton even know, their corporate edition does not even have a way to send viruses back to them for analysis. Its almost like its the year 2000, and oh you got a activex script that will run a virus, well in this reviewers opinion, many "just antivirus packages" do not care about that script, we will wait until the script runs the virus, and then, lets hope your protected from what it is running. Its about spending more money to have both packages, you have to get the Internet Security and the Antivirus nowadays, so do not expect one to do it all (in other words, every year or 2, your computer will have a fatal error so you better back that thing up regularly).
