Avast Home Edition
Version: 4.8.1229.80723The best free one.Better than norton and McAfee.
Pros: Very light on resources.Now includes antispyware and antirootkit.It has alot of shields like instant messaging scanner and p2p shield.Last time i diwnloaded a virus from limewire,avast detected a virus before the download finished and i was able to delete the virus :D
It is very easy to use and you can customize it with skins.It finds more viruses than norton and McAfee,scans faster and is lighter on resources.
I also like the feature that it updates automaticly on startup.
Cons: P2P shield has no support for CABOS and FROSTWIRE.

Version: 4.21a piece of trash.Don't download it
Pros: fast scans
Cons: 1.You need to pay to remove the spyware.
2.It was once listed as a rogue program.
3.It's still rogue:Found 30 trojans on my computer that were all false positives.
4.there are better ones out there for free.
Try spyware terminator and SUPERANTISPYWARE...

ZoneAlarm Firewall (Windows 2000/XP)
Version: 7.0.483not for vista
Pros: It's a good firewall,it does the job.It prevents you from someone hacking your pc.
Cons: Did not work on my vista machine.It kept showing me blue screens of death,even though it says it's vista ready?
Comodo Firewall is much better.It's for xp and vista.
