GoodSync

Version: 7.1.9

it works for file synchonisation

Pros: it works, its easy

Cons: it does not easily synchronise mail,as it needs to copy the whole big ile, not hte individual messages. So one message changed can mean one HUGE copy, which takes too log and is unworkable.

IrfanView

Version: 4.1

still fast and easy, but with some bells and whistles

Pros: Irfanview has not forgotten that it is primarily a very fast image viewer, for almost any image type. It also does file type changes, and some editing. That has grown with each version, and there are many many plug-ins

Cons: sorry cannot think of anything. I am sure some people wish it could do more, but that would make it slow down, and then it would lose its original aim.

MiniLyrics

Version: 5.7

Mostly does the job very welll

Pros: some issues around the choice of lyric. he database is fixed, but you can add text from others you find.

when it works the synchronised lyrics are well worth the cost of the program - buy it to ensure that is continually developed.

Cons: some of the skins do not work quite right. The lyrics editor should have a button next to the maximise/window button which switches it back to the viewer. Some skins do not have that.

Magic Button

Version: 2.1 build 70912

does what it is designed to do

Pros: helpful task switcher. Its the only way i have found to get to another program while using TomTom. Click the iTask button on my iPaq, then click the Home icon from Magic Button and i get to the today screen. Every other way i have tried just dumps me back to TomTom.

Cons: Not to happy about being on the SD card, in that the autostart does not work.

RoboForm

Version: 6.9

Excellent, I've also bought the usb "U3" version for portability

Pros: Saves passwords. Lets me have one strong password I remember on my own PC, and many different strong ones on web sites. Easily lets me visit password protected sites, from a favourites menu. Lets me store my personal inforamtion securely, to pre-fill forms. Lets me keep safe notes either with in a password record, or as a separate note withint ROboform, all secure from prying eyes. I can also have a read only copy on my PDA, so if i am missing my laptop or usb disc, I still have access to teh passwords.

Cons: It lost its connection with Maxthon, which had been what led me to ROboform in the first place. I've ditched Maxthon as a result.
