Pros: Good for web sites. Built-in HTML editor allows you to edit files in-place on the server. Change UNIX file permissions directly on the server
Cons: Quite slow

Pros: Easy to understand interface, all basic functions there.
Cons: On my system, Windows shut this application down halfway through burning my Documents and Settings folder onto a CD. Tried again, bombed out again, so gave up and uninstalled it.

Pros: Easy to set up and works OK.
Cons: After analysing differences between the two folders the lst of files is shown in a list. To scroll through this list you must continually click the scroll button, or click page-down. The wheel on the mouse doesn't scroll and there's no proper scrollbar. This makes it very hard to pick and choose the files that you want to synchronize

Pros: Powerful and versatile compression, many command line options to control compression. Author obviously is a compression expert.
Cons: Rather too many compression options for general file management - I just want something that compresses stuff without me having to know all the ins and outs of the different compression algorithms.
