SafeSex

Nice product - sketchy name can cause problems

Pros: The program is a great way to keep private reminders, thoughts, poetry you don't want read yet, etc. It keeps them password protected as promised.

Cons: If another user of your computer clicks on the programs icon they see a window that reads, "Safesex Passphrase - Enter Passphrase" This is something that would leave a spouse or child wondering what is hidden beyond the Safesex passphrase.

Great program - inappropriate and immature name.

ZeroSpyware Limited Edition

Version: 2.1.29.4

Pretty neat program. Found lots of spyware.

Pros: The program found lots of spyware that 7 other programs didn't find.

Cons: I suspect that it gives some false positives. It claimed I had coolwebsearch in my system and I know for a fact my computer didn't. Suspicious!

Mindful

Version: 1.1

Does not show calander in system tray.

Pros: Great reminder program hands down.

Cons: The description reads, "Get event reminders and a calendar on your system tray." However, there is no calander in the system tray, just an icon that you must click on to see what the date is. All I really wanted was to be able to see the date in my system tray. I just tried DateInTray 1.4 which does that but it wouldn't load at start-up like this program does. It is a nifty program so I will keep it but I highly suggest, in the next version, Mindful has the current date as the icon in the system tray. It makes sense and can't be that hard to program.

DateInTray

Version: 1.4

Could not get the program to load at start-up

Pros: Shows the current date in the system tray.

Cons: The program did not load at start-up. I even reinstalled it to my start-up menu as recommended but is still does not load at start up. It just shows the date, not the month but I guess I can figure that one out on my own. If I could get this to load at start-up, it would get a thumbs up from me!

I-Doser

Version: 3.0

Not sure if it works. You only get one chance to try.

Pros: Cool icon. Interesting idea. The program worked smoothly. It looks like something I MIGHT like to own....

Cons: You only get two different "doses" one to wake you up and one to get you to sleep. You can only try each one once. I tried the sleep dose and it was 24 minutes or so of what sounded like static or Channel 3, white noise/snow from a television along with an electronic pulse that gets slower and quieter as the minutes go by.

I was pretty sleepy when I started the session. I was pretty sleepy by the time it was over; But after sitting for 20 something minutes anyone could get sleepy. The thin is, after it was over with an alert box popped up with this loud buzz that almost gave me a heart attack. That woke me up! It alerted me that the session was over and I could not try it again until I gave them money. (The first dose is always free) Maybe if I had the chance to try this a couple more times to see if it really works I would be more prone to purchase this but I must say, this is the skimpiest trial-ware I have ever tried. I haven't check for spyware. They should come out with a version that really gives the user a chance to see if it works. And they need to get rid of the loud buzzing alert prompt. One session isn't enough to know. Not worth installing unless your just curious.
