Outstanding ScnSvr.... But.....

Pros: This is a very well done screen saver! The graphics are outstanding! You can get the feeling your flying if you allow your self to become mezmerized. The interior and exterior of the aircraft is as real as it gets without actually being there. It gives you different perspectives from within the aircraft looking out at random points throughout.

The scenery is stunning to say the least, and there's a variety of it! The developer deserves 10 stars for the concept and work it took to create! Thank you for the fine job you've done here 'Idle Time', and shareing it with us at no charge. A lot of work went into this one. It's definetly a keeper, and one that will have you day dreaming about far off places....

Cons: The down side is simply the fact that this screen saver is VERY processor intense! I have an AMD 2400+ CPU running at 1998Mhz and this screen saver uses EVERY BIT OF IT! 100%! Folks I must say, this is not a good thing in the long run. Unless you have a cooling system installed (and I don't meen a simple fan and heat sink) I would not run off for the afternoon and allow this to run. As others have stated, you WILL burn out your processor in time and be shucking out for a new one looooooong before you should if you allow this to run all the time. I suggest you use it here and there to relax for a while, or show it off to freinds, maybe while haveing a short party or similar function. This is one of the most processor intense apps I've seen period. As much as any high end game of the day. It dosn't seem to use much sytem ram which I find interesting.

The motion is VERY smooth, but not rock steady. To the average person this is not noticable. (However, I do have an nVidia 5200FX video card with 256MB of video ram and onboard 300Mhz video processor installed for what it's worth.) There is no sound effects at all. It would be nice if the developer would include audio, with a user control option like on/off, possably even an audio pitch control. Then the user could set the tone/pitch to a pleasent level. All that said, this IS an outstanding app, and one you'll enjoy for a long time to come. Just don't use it for long periods. I think an hour or two here and there should be plenty. Then give your PC a rest with a different ssvr or "get back to work"! (Don't forget to turn off the scnsvr first so you don't run off later and allow it to run while your not there.)

A MUST DOWNLOAD!!!

Pros: I've been using 'Mini Minder' for quite a long time now (last version was v6.51) and it runs flawlessly! Can be minimized to the tray so the alarms you set for events will popup on screen, right at the minute you choose them too or click exit and close it! It'll load the next time you logon. The previous version was simple, to the point, and did it's job as advertised very well. The latest version is everything I wanted it to be, and more! The customizeable features and settings will make old and new users of this app grin from ear to ear. Change the window bkground color, use the default UI skin, OR, use your system theme/colors to match the graphics and colors of your system. Change the font in the window! Print your entrys to a simple text output suitable for use in a notebook, file folder, or archive for whatever purpose!

Folks, I can't say enough here, and I've only touched on it's settings and features. I no longer have to open the full office suite just to get to my To-Do list and scheduled appointments! Mini Minder is a great little app that does what it says on the box and will surprise you. A must download that once installed, I couldn't live without! Don't be fooled by the name. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all with this one. Simple enough that a child could use it! Big enough to track any and all reminders you can think of one time or repeatedly. For what it does, it does it better than most if not all that I've tried, and I've tried a bunch of 'em. I'll shut up now. Do yourself a favor and try this. I'm sure you'll like it! Must download. Works as advertised!

Best Little DeskTop Icon Manager Around!

Pros: White Lightening must be drinkin' some of that stuff! Your icons are supposed to disappear. That's what this does and more!!! I've been using this for over a year. Works as advertised. Flawless on WinXP! Not only does it hide your desktop icons ect., but it has "HotCorners"! Pick a corner of your monitor in the settings dialog. When anyone walks into the room (like kids ect.,) and you don't want them to see what your working on, like your financial biz, just run your cursor to your chosen corner and ALL active apps will be instantly minimized to the task bar! This is a very handy little app that's worth your time downloadong and instaling. Puts desktop icons out of sight til you need them with just a click on the desktop. Very good, no conflicts, and no adware or 3rd party junk.
